As EBCO’s first Tru by Hilton project, this development represents an important milestone in our growing portfolio of hospitality construction projects across Texas and the Southwest.

What made this project especially meaningful was the long-standing relationship behind it. The hotel was built for a client EBCO has partnered with for more than 25 years. That trust, built over decades of successful projects, allowed our team to work collaboratively through every phase of planning and construction to deliver a hotel that meets Hilton’s brand standards while providing a welcoming experience for guests visiting Midland.

Building Near Midland Airpark

One of the unique challenges of this hotel construction project was its proximity to Midland Airpark. Because of the site’s location, the project team had to carefully navigate aviation-related restrictions and height constraints throughout the construction process.

Successfully managing these requirements required close coordination among the owner, design team, consultants, and construction professionals. Through proactive planning and communication, the team was able to keep the project moving forward while maintaining compliance with all applicable aviation considerations.

Thoughtful Design for a Growing Community

The 144-room Tempo by Hilton hotel is part of Uptown, a transformative two-million-square-foot urban village located just west Designed by Mayse & Associates, the four-story hotel was thoughtfully planned to complement the surrounding area while creating a bright, modern atmosphere for guests.

The design embraces the openness of the site and reflects the fresh, energetic aesthetic that has become synonymous with the Tru by Hilton brand. The result is a hotel that feels both inviting and functional, serving business travelers, tourists, and visitors to the Midland area.

The completed hotel is a four-story Type V-A structure featuring 102 guest rooms and a variety of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience.

EBCO General Contractor proudly celebrated a major construction milestone on March 10, 2026, with a topping-out ceremony for the Tempo by Hilton hotel currently rising in Tucson, Arizona.

Held at the project site within the visionary Uptown development, the event brought together approximately 250 guests, including project partners, team members, and industry collaborators. The celebration marked more than just structural progress—it honored the people and partnerships driving the project forward.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

The topping-out ceremony reflected the strong sense of collaboration behind the Tempo by Hilton project. Guests enjoyed a barbecue lunch, participated in raffles and giveaways, and connected with fellow contributors who have played a role in bringing the development to life.

A representative from Hilton attended the event and noted that it was one of the most impressive topping-out celebrations they had experienced—highlighting the energy, pride, and teamwork shared across the entire project team.

“This milestone represents the dedication, craftsmanship, and teamwork that define every project we build,” said David Egger, President of EBCO General Contractor. “We’re honored to partner with Bourn Companies and the entire project team to bring the Tempo by Hilton brand to Tucson as part of the Uptown development. About the Project

The 144-room Tempo by Hilton hotel is part of Uptown, a transformative two-million-square-foot urban village located just west of the Catalina Mountains. Once complete, Uptown will feature a dynamic mix of retail, dining, office space, residential living, and hospitality.

Developed by Bourn Companies and designed by Mayse & Associates, the project also includes collaboration with Studio 11 Design, Valencia Hotel Collection, and Stovelight.

The hotel itself is designed to serve as a vibrant destination, featuring:

Ground-floor retail and dining
Flexible meeting and gathering spaces
A 4,000-square-foot pool deck

Construction is currently progressing toward a scheduled opening in 2027.

Four Commercial Projects Completed in Two Weeks

Our commercial construction team recently reached an exciting milestone — four project turnovers in just two weeks across Texas. These projects included restaurant, education, banking, and medical facilities, showcasing the versatility of our team and our commitment to delivering high-quality commercial construction on schedule.

From long-time clients to voter-approved bond projects, each job came with its own unique challenges and opportunities. Here is a closer look at the four projects our team successfully completed.

Taco Bell – Navasota, Texas

We completed the new construction of a 2,739-square-foot Taco Bell restaurant in Navasota, TX for a franchisee client we have proudly worked with for over 20 years. Over the course of our relationship, we have built more than 100 Taco Bell locations for this client, making this project another meaningful milestone in a long-standing partnership.

This site came with several challenges, including a complex off-site plan, unmarked fiber lines, and a high-pressure gas line running through the job site. Through careful coordination and problem-solving, our team was able to keep the project on track and deliver another successful restaurant build.

Rockdale ISD College & Career Academy – Rockdale, Texas

In Rockdale, TX, our team completed the 33,301-square-foot renovation of a former hospital into the new Rockdale ISD College & Career Academy. This project was part of a bond program approved by voters, with the goal of repurposing an unused facility into a modern educational space.

The renovated building will provide students with opportunities to pursue technical and career-focused education in a state-of-the-art environment. Transforming an older structure into a functional, updated facility required extensive planning and coordination, and we are proud to have played a role in bringing this important community project to life.

Classic Bank – Thorndale, Texas

Another recent completion was the new 3,492-square-foot Classic Bank facility in Thorndale, TX. This project has been in the works for several years and marks an important step for Classic Bank as they transition from a temporary office into a permanent location to better serve the Thorndale community.

This new single-story bank building provides a modern, functional space designed to meet the needs of both customers and staff, while also giving the bank a long-term home in the community.

MD Kids Pediatric Clinic – Waxahachie, Texas

We also completed the new construction of a 4,821-square-foot pediatric medical clinic in Waxahachie, TX. This single-story, wood-framed medical office building was designed to provide a comfortable and efficient space for both patients and healthcare providers.

Medical office construction requires careful attention to detail, coordination with multiple trades, and strict scheduling to ensure the facility is ready for operation. Our team worked closely with the design team to deliver a high-quality healthcare space on schedule.
