Internships at EBCO

Our Interns are mentored to take on increasing responsibility during their 12-week rotation and gain hands-on experience. In a field-based setting, this experience enables them to make a direct impact on their project by:

  • Contracts & Documentation: Becoming familiar with the contracts, documents, plans, specs, subcontracts, etc.

  • Reporting: Completing daily reports and photos.

  • Scheduling & Resources: Working with the Superintendent and Project Manager to develop project and look-ahead schedules; organizing trades, and verifying material and resource requirements for the critical path.

  • Quality Control: Assisting with day-to-day quality control and using the punch system to ensure work is performed to an acceptable level of workmanship.

  • Site Safety & Standards: Working with the Superintendent to maintain OSHA Standards and ensuring the jobsite is orderly, clean, secure, and professional.

  • Safety Programs: Actively participating in Safety Meetings and the implementation of Safety programs, including daily safety assessments.

  • Meetings: Attending trade-partner and OAC Meetings.

  • Customer Service: Going above and beyond to maintain excellent customer satisfaction at all times.

  • Feedback: Presenting feedback to Managers to support program improvement.

Interns may also have the opportunity to work part of their rotation in the office to gain exposure to pre-construction and project management initiatives.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Are currently attending a College or University in a Construction Management or Engineering program.
  • Have the desire to pursue a career in Commercial Construction.
  • Be willing to travel / live away from home for the duration of their rotation (living arrangements will be made by and paid for by EBCO).
  • Have reliable transportation to get to and from their worksite.
  • Have some understanding of building concepts, codes, regulations, laws, and best practices.
  • Are willing to learn, and work as a member of the team.
  • Can work in a non-traditional environment, lifting, standing, climbing, pushing, carrying and spend the majority of the day in the great outdoors.
